We would like to take the opportunity to introduce ourselves, we are a Hertfordshire based company with over 60 years top to bottom experience in the drywall industry.
Our company is comfortable in all aspects of the sector from standard tacking of plasterboard, to intricate coffered ceiling designs and full external SFS builds. We often find ourselves helping our clients improve the layout and design of their projects by calling on our knowledge and years of experience, this also helps us see when something isn’t broken so we don’t try and fix it.
Britannia spent its first formative years trading and searching for the right skilled labour to work in our growing company. Tradesmen who share the same values, work ethic and high standards as ourselves, this is always an ongoing search for new skilled labour who we can take pride in accepting under the Britannia banner.
We believe the time spent finding the right tradesmen sets us apart from other companies in our industry, the confidence this breeds then enables us to send our operatives to site safe in the knowledge that they are equipped with the tools to perform any task required, we also expect this to be done in courteous and respectful manner.
One of our companies aims is to secure repeat contracts from our clients and to have a rapport built on mutual respect and a strong working relationship.
With over 60 years of knowledge in the drylining industry between our two directors alone, we feel there is no situation where our wealth of experience aligned with our technical know-how can’t help us get a difficult project across the line. Our company's insight from top to bottom including our office staff to our site supervisors gives us a unique insight into the everyday running of a complicated construction site. If you ally this with our skilled labour and their onsite technical capabilities, this gives us a clear focus and a joint desire for a high quality finish.
We are more than happy to be involved in the design and build process with our clients and are at home suggesting different views with the aim of accomplishing our clients' needs. Relying on our wealth of experience working on hundreds of construction projects over the years we can offer many different options and answers to questions and problems that are an everyday occurrence in construction.
From introduction to completion we aim to be nothing but courteous and professional. Our experience tells us that strong partnerships within the workspace garner the very best results and we feel at Britannia a happy and cohesive site is the best site, and this is something we strive to be a part of.
Our aim is always to finish on budget and schedule, the price we give is the price we adhere to unless there are client led requested changes.

My own introduction to the construction industry was after leaving the sixth form and bouncing between jobs in the 90s, a friend of the family then offered me some work labouring which I thought I would try. I did this for a few years whilst learning to be a dryliner at the same time, eventually learning all aspects of the trade and becoming a full time dryliner in my own right.
After 20 plus years working for many companies and on many sites I decided along with Kev that we should be doing this for ourselves, we had so much knowledge between us and a myriad of contacts within the sector that it was foolish not to give it a try.
So in 2012 Kev and I started our partnership with the aim of finding our own work, this proved to be a successful venture and in 2014 Britannia Drywall Ltd was born. With the progression and growth of the company happening quite rapidly in the early years we were able to separate our roles, Kev now organising the labour side and the daily running of our sites and logistics. I then myself was able to take the lead in the office tendering and finding new projects.
My introduction to the industry came in a slightly different way, as my father was an accountant who had lots of tradesmen on his books. My father god bless him obviously didn’t think i would make it as an accountant so set me up with a dryliner as his labourer. This turned out to be a Godsend as I really enjoyed working on site with a gang of dryliners and learning a trade. I prefer to be outside personally and still like to be on site daily.
After working with Dave on the tools for many years and forming a friendship to last a lifetime we decide to take a chance on ourselves and the rest is history. My own strengths lie with my communication skills and forging long term relationships as I am a people person and love talking and building relationships.
